Rebecca Carballo came to the Houston Chronicle in August 2020, and has covered a variety of beats. She started as a business reporter writing about the economy and health care. This fall, she began covering education, focusing on Houston's public school system.
Before coming to Houston, Rebecca covered immigration for the Times Union in Albany, New York. She was also the city reporter for the Charleston Gazette-Mail in West Virginia.
